Franklin County roads are starting to take a beating after a few local businesses have increased traffic on the roads.  Ottawa Co-Op has opened an ammonia transfer station and Spencer Farms is transporting grain to the intermodal, just to name a few.  Franklin County Commission Chair Randal Renoud says it’s time the county looked at better preparing our roads for higher volumes of traffic.

At last week’s meeting, Commissioner Rick Howard suggested the county purchase their own chip and seal equipment and not be at the whim of outside companies to do the projects.
