The annual Mayor’s Holiday Lighting Ceremony is upon us as the Downtown Ottawa Christmas lights will be turned on Saturday night. The festivities begin at 5:30p.m. with the cookie decorating and crafts for the children, which will be either in the chamber office or outside in front of the chamber office. President of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, John Coen has more.
He adds that the event will be family-friendly with Spotlight Dance providing entertainment. Arvest Bank will give away two new children’s bicycles. Katie Wooge will lead the singing of Christmas carols. Brenda Hayden won the honor of throwing the switch to turn on the lights at Bow-Meow, the annual Prairie Paws fundraiser. Come on down to Haley Park tomorrow night and celebrate the Christmas season and enjoy the glow of the lights in beautiful Downtown Ottawa.
