An Ottawa woman who took her 4-year-old son to Mexico without authorization has pleaded no contest to one count of aggravated interference with parental custody. Trina Tinsley made the plea during a hearing yesterday in Franklin County District Court. The charge could carry a prison sentence ranging from 11 months up to 34 months and carries a maximum fine of 500 thousand dollars. Sentencing was set for January 14th at 4:15. During the hearing, attorneys did comment that in Tinsley’s case, the penalty could also be presumptive probation. A pre-sentence evaluation will be done prior to sentencing.
