If you live in the West Franklin School District, this will be of interest. Franklin County treasurer Jody Edwards says some people will be owing more property tax.
Edwards says there are about 36 hundred parcels involved. She says if you want to come into the Franklin County Courthouse to make a payment, you can see what your additional tax amount may be. If you want to mail it in, corrected statements should be received by taxpayers around December 20th. Edwards says the glitch was not caused by anything that happened in the school district or the county offices, but by a company that provides the software.
