While actual construction and renovation of school facilities under the West Franklin school bond issue are still a long ways away, some concrete planning is getting underway. During a special school board meeting, Architect Robert Hansen gave details of plans for a new gym.
The school board was told that, right now, the bond project is running a little over 3 percent over budget. So, some changes will have to be made to bring it within budget guidelines. However, officials say, at this point, being only 3 percent over budget is actually a good position to be in because many projects start out at from 5 to 10 percent over budget.
