A zoning dispute at 803 North King Street in Ottawa was the subject of a hearing before the board of zoning appeals last night, and it could have the city investigating some neighboring properties for possible violations.  At issue were two outbuildings that were recently put up without a permit.  Jason Payor Attorney from Lawrence who was representing the owner Linda Covington.  Pryor told the zoning appeals board that Ms. Covington was doing what her neighbors are doing.

The zoning appeals board eventually voted to go along with city staff recommendations that they allow two older outbuildings to stay, and require the newly installed buildings to be moved.  Board Member Betty Birzer noted she could not find anything wrong with what Ms. Covington was doing and voted to let the buildings remain.  However, the other three board members did not agree.
