The days of Ottawa police chief Dennis Butler are winding down… Butler is leaving to take a job with the Riley County Police Department. At a reception at Neosho County Community College, he remembered one his first encounters with the city manager Richard Nienstedt.
Butler says Nienstedt was one of the best bosses he ever worked for. Butler says he had planned to retire in Ottawa until the job offer in Riley County came up.
