Ottawa police chief Dennis Butler is no longer police chief. Butler is taking a new job as chief of the Riley County Police Department. In farewell remarks to the Ottawa city commission, Butler talked about his experiences and one thing that surprised him.
Butler was police chief for 14 years and he says he had planned to stay in Ottawa and retire. It is only through repeated urging’s that he took a look at the job position in Riley County.
