A rash of car burglaries in Ottawa the past few weeks have led to a lot of damaged vehicles and many items missing. The Ottawa Police Department reports that the majority of the burglaries are open opportunities, where the car owner has left the doors unlocked. Division commander for detectives Doug Waterman says there are ways you can make your vehicle less inviting.
He adds that many times people wait to report suspicious activity and by the time police get to the scene, the suspects are gone.
