OTTAWA — Perhaps it was the dog days of spring this weekend. Law officers didn’t get much of a pause in dealing with dog-related matters. A Williamsburg woman reported to sheriff’s officers that she was bitten on her leg by a neighbor’s dog in the 1600 block of Haskell Road Saturday afternoon. The bite broke the skin. Ottawa police said a stray dog bit a 30-year-old Ottawa man. The attack occurred in the 900 block of South Hickory Street Saturday afternoon. John Thompson of Paola was driving east on K-68 near Tennesee Road when he hit a dog crossing the highway Friday afternoon. Thompson wasn’t injured.
