It appears the controversy over parking losses caused by the Legacy Square construction are grinding to a close. The Ottawa city commission considered the matter at their study session…. One person who spoke to commissioners was John Gladman, who has helped develop the Legacy Square concept.
City officials pointed out that the illustration Gladman showed was the original concept drawing completed by Architect One… And it was before actual construction planning got underway. Nevertheless city officials agree communication needs to be improved. City commissioners were told the majority of business owners seem to want the project completed in one phase…. They then voted five to zero in a show of support for the single phase… They also pointed out the need to continue trying to ease the burden of business owners during the construction.
