GARNETT — One of two juveniles accused of breaking into Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, and damaging property and stealing sacred items has pleaded guilty to burglary as part of a plea agreement in Anderson County District Court. Derrik States, 17, Garnett, was originally charged with burglary, felony theft, felony criminal damage to property and felony criminal desecration. The church was vandalized and items worth about $30,000 were stolen either Feb. 19 or 20. All of the items were recovered. He will be adjudicated April 27. Robert States, 16, Garnett, has also been charged in the incident.
