OTTAWA — The county, city and school district could join to seek a state grant that would allow them to hire an energy czar. School superintendent Dean Katt says the grant could help the district to save energy costs. County administrator Lisa Johnson said the two-year $50,000 grant would allow the three governments to hire an energy manager to oversee their efforts to cut their utility costs. The grant is on a first-come, first-served basis, she said.
