OTTAWA — An article by Police Chief Dennis Butler has been printed by this month’s Police Chief Magazine. Butler wrote about the creation of the Ottawa Police Foundation, which raises money for a variety of functions including DARE and special equipment and training. Although larger departments have established foundations, Ottawa’s example shows that small department can start successful foundations and receive strong support from the community, he said.
