Yesterday was a very difficult day for Franklin County first responders. Just before 8a.m yesterday morning, a fatal accident I-35 left a mother and her two children dead. According to the Sheriff’s office, 25-year-old Bree-Yori McGowan of Texas was traveling northbound when her vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected, crossed through the median and entered the southbound lanes. A vehicle traveling southbound collided into the broadside of the northbound vehicle. McGowan and her children, 7-year-old Kamarra Williams and 6-year-old Na-Hah-Jza Jackson were all dead at the scene. The driver of the southbound vehicle, who has not been identified, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. One lane of I-35 was closed for several hours while the crash was being investigated.
