TOPEKA — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said a 71-year-old woman from northeast Kansas has died from H1N1 swine flu. Her death brings the total number of confirmed deaths from swine flu to 29. The KDHE said the woman had other health conditions that placed her at greater risk for severe complications from the swine flu. Kansas state health officer Jason Eberhart-Phillips said H1N1 is presently at low levels in the state. However, there has been a sharp increase in the southeastern U.S., he said.
