Representative Blaine Finch of Ottawa has secured passage of the resolution that will give disaster relief assistance to residents of Franklin and Osage County and other Kansans impacted by recent flooding and tornados. The house leverage committee will access 10 million dollars in state disaster relief funds for 56 counties. Franklin, Anderson, Douglas and Osage Counties are included.
In addition, President Trump has granted a federal emergency declaration for 18 Counties enable access to another 75 million dollars in federal funds. Franklin, Anderson and Osage Counties are included in the federal declaration.
Finch says, “It is in the DNA of Kansas to help a neighbor in need, and this is an opportunity to step up and help our neighbors in need and sends a strong signal to all Kansans that state government supports them and is taking all necessary action to help them restore their homes, their farms and their lives.
