The Ottawa library announced last week that they have acquired land on west 15th street and would like to build a new library there. The library has been in the city hall building since 1996 when they moved from the Carnegie building in what was supposed to be a temporary basis. They have been looking for a place to rebuild for quite some time and the property at 228 west 15th has what they were looking for. Executive Director Terry Charter says, “There are few details to work out.”

She adds, “Being close to the trail, the Goppert Teen Park, the middle school, and high school, and the space to grow are all important reasons for choosing the location.”
