MOUND CITY — A 36-year-old Mound City woman was taken to a Fort Scott hospital Thursday after she was injured in a one-vehicle accident on K-7 a mile south of the K-52 junction. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Marci Betts was driving north on K-7 when a deer darted in front of her. Troopers said Betts swerved but went into the east ditch and when her Jeep Cherokee came out of the ditch it was airborne, and it landed on the road and then bounced into the west ditch and hit a telephone box, a stump and a house. Her Jeep came to rest at the garage door of the house.
