The Ottawa City Commission recently approved the rezoning of an area behind Subway. Because the original area to rezoned included some land across from Ottawa University, some residents in the area voiced concerns thinking Ottawa University may be planning to build an off-campus dormitory in that area. OU midwest President Doctor Reggies Wenyika, who also serves on the planning commission, says that was never the case.
The area was designated as low-density residential. It was re-classified as medium density residential.
