The Ottawa City Commission officially recognized the 29th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with a proclamation declaring July 26th, Friday as access Awareness Day in Ottawa. Commissioner Eric Crowly read the proclamation.
It was noted that 12 and a half percent of America’s population has a disability and almost every aspect of their lives are affected in some way. Ottawa formed an accessibility awareness board in recent years. Board members include Ruth Ann Wasko, Kaci Brady, Marsha Hermreck, Chris Patton, Amy Bolinger, Kyle Trandel, Lori Ann Bean, Josh Robinson, and John Fritts.
