An accident early this morning on I-35 at the 171-mile marker, close to the Williamsburg exit, injured and Iowa man and forced the closure of one of the northbound lanes for several hours. Shortly after 1:30 this morning, a tractor-trailer was driven by 52-year-old James Crofutt of council bluffs, Iowa struck another tractor-trailer that was disabled on the side of the road. The driver of that truck, 48-year-old John Hyde of Albia, Iowa was working on the disabled truck when it was struck and sustained minor injuries. The collision caused extensive damage and debris-covered both lanes of the highway. A third vehicle, driven by David Esquivel of Kansas City, struck the debris and his vehicle overturned as a result. He was not injured. Hyde was treated and released from Advent Health Ottawa.
