The new mobile food pantry in Franklin County is getting underway. Franklin County food policy council representative Amanda Stinebaugh says, “The goal of the pantry is to provide better access to healthy affordable food, particularly in southern parts of the county.” She says, “The biggest hurdle for those in need is transportation to Ottawa when distributions are going on here.
The food consists of two nutritious recipes and all the ingredients to make them. They will be available for pickup on Tuesday evenings at the Hope Anthem Church in Ottawa, the community building in Princeton and the United Methodist Church in Richmond. If you need food assistance or would like to volunteer, please call 785-222-0848 or the Health Department to register.
