The transition of Ransom Memorial Health to Advent Health Ottawa has gone smoothly so far and there have been some unforeseen benefits along the way. One of those is the increased numbers of patients in the emergency room. Near-record numbers last year, CEO Matt Heine says, “Many patients are no longer bypassing the ER in Ottawa to go to Loathe or Lawrence. He says, “Patient satisfaction score is way up.”
He adds that the community will soon see an increase in technology available locally, as well as a greater variety of physicians available in Ottawa for health issues that patients previously had to go out of town to see.
