The recent theft of five vehicles from Louisburg Ford is remarkably coincidental to an attempted theft at Victory Chrysler in Ottawa on the same night. On July 16th, a van with five men pulled up outside the building and the men attempted to break into the showroom. Surveillance video from Victory shows that at least two men made it into the showroom. Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner says, “The two incidents may be part of something much bigger.”
Previous thefts at Victory led to increased security at Victory thwarting the thefts. He adds that Ottawa has been fortunate in that several of the cars have been recovered, most in the Kansas City, and Ottawa detectives are working with other departments to try to identify and break up the ring.
