The expected 10% increase in Ottawa electric rates may not happen as soon as was first thought. Originally the Ottawa City Commission was expected to approve an increase at its August 7th meeting. City Manager Richard Nienstedt says, “More work needs to be done.”
A recent rate study indicated that Ottawa has the lowest electric rates compared to other cities. There hasn’t been an electric rate increase in at least 10 years.
