The Ottawa Recreation Commission will likely save a substantial amount of money on bonds it used to build the Goppert Center. Dustin Avey with Piper Jaffrey told the Ottawa School Board, which technically is responsible for the ORC. The savings would come from refinancing taking advantage of lower interest rates.
Avery says, “If for some reason the refinancing did not result in expected savings, the ORC is not out any money.” The school board is expected to deal again with the issues at its first meeting in September.
