This storms that swept through the area last night caused major damage in parts of southern Franklin and Anderson County. Power poles snapped and trees came down, creating a dangerous situation in some areas. Add heavy rain and flash flooding to the mix and well, a big mess. He indicated that getting power returned to the area should take most of the day and residents should be prepared to be without power for an extended period of time today.
