Ottawa and other towns along the Flint Hills Trail are starting to get more attention from other areas of the State. The Wichita Eagle recently ran a story about the trail system, featuring Ottawa as an example of a city ready to take advantage of an expected increase in the of the trails. The Flint Hills Trail will eventually stretch 117 miles across east-central Kansas. About 95 miles of the state park is open now in six counties. The grand opening of the Legacy Square 6th the intersection of the Flint Hills and Prairie Spirit Trail will celebrate Ottawa’s commitment to welcoming trail users to the city.
