Work to reconstruct a portion of state highway 31, in Osage City, has begun, the Kansas Department of Transportation has announced. The project will extend on market street from the state highway 170 junction East to Fourth Street. The project and detour routes are being handled by the city of Osage; KDOT is administering the contract.

This section of K-31 is closed to traffic, and traffic will be routed on Lakin Street. No truck will be allowed except for making or picking up deliveries. Local businesses will be open along the route with access from adjacent alleys and entrances. The project is expected to be completed by mid-November. KDOT asks everyone to use extra caution in the work zone areas.
