POMONA — A Pomona woman lost control of her vehicle near the Marais des Cygnes River and hit a tree Monday afternoon. Shannon Heiman was driving north on Colorado Road when she lost control of her vehicle and it ran off the road, said Undersheriff Steve Lunger. There was no indication in the reports that she was injured, he said. It was one of two calls in western Franklin County that rural firefighters had to deal with at about the same time Monday afternoon. They had to deal with a shed fire near Centropolis.
