An area teen has won the first ever Kansas State Fair Grand Drive Championship scholarship. Chad Hibdon, of Princeton was one of 10 winners who were awarded for their efforts both inside and outside the show ring. The $1,000 scholarship awarded those who demonstrated excellence, commitment and integrity as ambassadors of the fair’s junior livestock program. Started in 2000, the fair’s Grand Drive has turned into the encompasses shows for cattle, sheep, hogs, and goats. Kansas youth entered nearly 2,500 animals this year.
To be eligible, applicants must have been current or past exhibitors of the Kansas State Fair Grand Drive and either graduating from high school this year or enrolling in a secondary education program for the school year.
