In case you didn’t notice, work has begun on the road construction project on Agate Street in Paola. The construction will interfere with how you exit the Miami County Sheriff’s Office. You need to exit on the side closest to the administration building. The project is expected to last about 30 days. According to the Miami County Republic, the rehabilitation effort is between Shawnee and Miami Streets. Improvements will include mill and overlay with full-depth patching, a new concrete approach to the administration parking lot, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks East of the project, an additional parking lot and sidewalks to connect parking lots. The new parking lot will add 22 parking spaces for county employees and 16 on-street parking spaces for public use.
