GARNETT — One Garnett restaurant owner will mark Earth Day the way she always does – recycling. Nancy Maloan is owner of Maloan’s Bar and Grill in Garnett. She has been recycling most of her restaurant’s waste for about three years and recycling items at her home longer than that. She told the Anderson County Review she started recycling after she saw how much was being thrown away. Maloan said because of her recycling efforts, she has only two bags of trash from restaurant each week and downsized her trash dumpster and her trash bill. The most time-consuming part of her recycling efforts is loading it into her car and hauling it to the landfill, she said.
