David Osler, who shot his neighbor, Robin Durand, a couple weeks ago, apparently was ready for a showdown with police that he may not have survived. According to the Anderson County Review, officers found a large number of weapons and ammunition in his home. Police found numerous firearms sitting out in all the rooms, large amounts of ammunition for all the guns and Osler had arranged the furniture in his house into a barricaded position, described as “Bunker Style.”  A neighbor says they has an encounter with Osler earlier in the day when they went to ask him if they could borrow a saw. Osler refused but told them that if he could kill anyone, it would be them, and pointed toward the Durand’s house.

A family member told the court he had made several references about not being in jail and having freedom taken away, and he had threatened to kill family members numerous times and threatened suicide. His bond was set at $10 million, due to reports that he had significant savings and could make bond. He is still in custody at the Anderson County Jail. His next court appearance has not been set.
