There has been a lot of talk about the United States corn crop and the condition of the overall crop. Many people, love to munch on a nice juicy ear of sweet corn on the cob, but it turns out that very little sweet corn is grown in the United States, compared to the entire corn crop. United States Department of Agriculture Chantell Oyee explains.

Field corn stays hard on the stalk and producers grind it up for animal feed. So, the next time you spread a little butter on that juicy ear of corn, remember it’s a rare commodity.
