A couple of somewhat controversial issues has caused some Ottawa city officials to wonder if they’re trying to make decisions too rapidly. City commission approval revamped contractor license fees and a new agreement with the revamped Ottawa Main Street Association has been delayed a few weeks due to questions that came up during their decisions. City Manager Richard Nienstedt told the city commission they might need to slow down.

Nienstedt was referring to contractor licensing fees, he says taking more time with an issue gives city staff more opportunities to throughly review and answer questions about any given issue.
