OTTAWA — A Franklin County jury has ordered the city of Ottawa to pay two property owners more money. Robert and Ryon Weidner had sued the city after the city offered them nearly $58,000 for an easement for running a power line across their property east of the city last year. The city had used its power of eminent domain to get the easement.
After a three-day trial, the jurors ordered the city to pay the Weidners nearly $93,000.
