The new Franklin County burn permit that will go into full effect in January has caused a few areas of concern. One of those is the lack of internet service to fill out the application. Franklin County Emergency Management Director Allan Radcliff says there are other ways to get the permits.
Another advantage of the online system is that you can fill out multiple permits quickly on the site. The new system gives the county a way to track who is burning what and on what day and hopefully avoid sending fire units out to a controlled burn.
