TOPEKA–It looks a sure bet that you’ll be paying more in sales tax in Kansas. The Kansas Senate has passed a bill that would boost the state sales tax from 5.3% to 6.3%. The House is expected to follow suit. It then goes to the Governor for his signature. The bill would take effect July 1. It would mean an average Kansas family would pay $266 more each year in sales tax.
