RANTOUL – Franklin County Commissioner Don Stottlemire has filed for re-election. The economy and cutbacks in state funding remain among the toughest issues facing future commissioners, he said. County employees have been able to improvise by coordinating purchases with other counties and government agencies, pursuing grants and sharing with other agencies, he said. Stottlemire is the lats of the three commissioners up for re-election this fall to file. No one has filed to challenge him. Stottlemire’s district covers eastern Franklin County and his is the only district that doesn’t include part of the city of Ottawa.
