OSAWATOMIE — Census Bureau workers will be knocking on a bunch of doors throughout the city of Osawatomie. The Osawatomie Journal reports that the city is tied with Fontana for the worst performance in Miami County in filling out and returning Census forms as of the May 1 deadline. The Census is important because government programs and grants are keyed to Census and population figures. The Census is also required by the U.S. Constitution.
