A message from the Paola Police Department: Lock your vehicles! Vehicle thefts have become somewhat of an issue in Paola. Last week, police reported a Dodge Charger stolen from within city limits. The vehicle, which was stolen after being left unlocked with the keys inside. It was recovered the following day in Spring Hill. Anyone with information pertaining to the case is asked to reach out to the Paola Police Department. Officials at all law enforcement agencies continue to encourage people to always lock vehicles, houses and secure garage doors to prevent crimes of opportunity. During the past several weeks, Paola Police Officers have noticed a big increase in auto burglaries and thefts, and in most cases the vehicles have been unlocked with the keys inside.
