OTTAWA – Ottawa/Franklin County Economic Development officials have been a little hoarse these days selling a proposal with a lot more horsepower. OFCED president Tom Weigand said he’s looking for land for a proposal to develop a large horse arena on a high-visibility site within three to four miles of Ottawa. A woman from Florida with contacts in the Ottawa area could build a horse arena and stables on an 80-acre site, he said. The present proposal includs parking for several hundred vehicles, a hotel and a feed store, he told Franklin County commissioners Monday.
