Every year the Rockwood Acres neighborhood spends Christmas Eve out on the streets setting up thousands of luminaria that line the streets and driveways of the area. They invite the community to come out and drive through and enjoy the warm glow of the soft light. They also use it as a fundraiser for a specific cause in town. This year it was to raise money for the Franklin County Homeless Coalition Emergency Shelter. Franklin County United Way Director Leigh Hanson was there.
She added that there will be an informational meeting about the Emergency Shelter tomorrow night at 7 at the Community Revival Church at 2749 Montana Road in Ottawa.
