Many people who grow corn and soybeans in our area and particularly in the northern areas are concentrating on getting soybeans out of the fields and leaving the corn for later. Corn is only 52% harvested right now, but USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says this week soybean farmers had 75% of that crop in.
Soybean harvest is about 20% behind normal in many areas of the midwest.
