BUSH CITY — A former Anderson County Hospital administrator said he’s running for the Anderson County Commission District 1. So far, Republican Jim Johnson is the only challenger to County Commissioner Dean Register, who is a Democrat. Johnson is from Bush City. He was CEO of Anderson County Hospital for 10 years, and of a Chillicothe, Mo., for 10 years. He is retired but is serving as interim CEO at the Chillicothe hospital. He and his family operate a small cattle operation in southeastern Anderson County. He told the Anderson County Review his management experience would be an asset as commissioner and he would maximize services and keep taxes as low as possible. The filing deadline is noon June 10.
