OTTAWA — County public works director Jim Haag said the state has given its OK to the bids to pave Montana Road between the new U.S. 59 and Sand Creek Road. Haag asked county commissioners this morning to approve the low bidder approved by the state at next week’s meeting. That part of Montana Road isn’t paved and it’s been damaged by the sharp increase in traffic from the new highway. Construction is scheduled to begin June 14 and continue through most of the summer, he said. That part of Montana Road will be closed during the project.
