OTTAWA — The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life begins tonight with the Survivors’ Lap and goes for 24 hours at Ottawa High School. The Luminarias honors those touched by cancer and begins tonight at 10 at the track, at which time the stadium lights will be turned off. So far, 39 teams with 462 people have signed up and raised more than $44,000 for anti-cancer efforts and ensuring more birthdays by fighting back. In addition, the Franklin County Cancer Foundation’s On the Move for Cancer 5-K run-walk is Saturday at Kanza Park.
