An accident on Tuesday evening sent a Kansas City woman to the hospital. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, 32-year-old Elainna Morton of Kansas City was traveling southbound in the 4300 block of Vermont Road when she attempted to navigate a curve at a high rate of speed. She crossed the center line and left the road on the left side and struck an embankment. The vehicle then overturned before coming to a stop. She was transported to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Her vehicle was reported as a total loss.
